At the heart of the BRAUN DigiFrame 858 is a 20.3 cm IPS display with LED backlighting, which displays photographs in a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels in the classic 4:3 format. IPS technology ensures stable color reproduction and wide viewing angles, so that images retain their brilliance from almost any position in the room. With its compact dimensions of 201 x 160 x 22 millimeters, the beautifully designed frame blends discreetly into a wide variety of living environments.

Operation is intuitive: a magnetic infrared remote control is stored on the back of the device, so it cannot be lost. The user-friendly OSD menu navigation allows you to navigate through functions and settings without having to connect to a computer. The BRAUN DigiFrame 858 works completely independently of a PC and obtains its content directly from SD and SDHC cards as well as USB memory sticks in the 2.0 standard with a capacity of up to 32 gigabytes. Up to 10,000 images can be managed, although a maximum of 8,000 images is recommended for optimal performance.

The versatility of the BRAUN DigiFrame 858 is evident in its extensive format support. Photographs in JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG formats can be played back without any problems, while the slideshow function provides variety with various playback effects and individually adjustable display times. An integrated G-sensor automatically detects the orientation of the frame and rotates portrait-format images accordingly. A thumbnail mode as well as zoom and rotation functions are available for detailed image viewing.

BRAUN does not limit the DigiFrame 858 to pure image display. The device is evolving into a multimedia center that plays music files in MP3, WMA, and WAV formats via the built-in 1-watt speaker or the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. Video clips in numerous formats—including AVI, MKV, MOV, MP4, H.264, and various MPEG variants—can be played at a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second.

Practical details round off the concept: the integrated clock and calendar function transforms the device into a useful everyday object even when media is not being played. Programmable switch-on and switch-off times enable energy-efficient operation, while the auto-start function activates the device immediately as soon as it is connected to the power supply. The menu navigation is available in thirteen languages.

The BRAUN DigiFrame 858 offers two mounting options: the included stand allows for classic placement, while two VESA mounting holes with a 75-millimeter spacing allow for wall mounting. Power is supplied via a compact power adapter.
